Snickerdoodles Recipe

SNICKERDOODLES 🍪

 

🧾Ingredients 

•2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 

•1 tsp cream of tartar

•3/4 tsp baking soda 

•170gm unsalted butter 

•1 tsp salt 

•60gm shortening 

•1 3/4 cups caster sugar 

•1/3 cup caster sugar (for rolling)

•1 egg + 1 yolk 

•1 tbsp pure vanilla extract 

•1 tbsp ground cinnamon 

 

⏲Method 

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C 

2. Line your baking tray with baking paper

3. Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a small bowl

4. Mix together butter and shortening in a bowl or stand mixer until creamy (about 1 minute) 

5. Add 1 3/4 cups of sugar and mix again on medium speed until light and fluffy, 2-3mins 

6. Add the egg, yolk and vanilla and mix on low speed until combined

7. Add the flour mixture and mix again on low speed until combined 

8. Mix the rest of the sugar (65gm) and the cinnamon together in a small bowl 

9. Scoop the dough in 2tbsp portions and coat in the cinnamon sugar 

10. Gently press the cookie down on the tray 

11. Bake until the sides are set and the tops have cracked 12-14mins. 

12. Remove from the oven and leave to rest for 10 mins before moving and enjoy 😊
